Have you ever
noticed that the best training in
education comes from other teachers?
You can spend hundreds of dollars at an
out-of-town conference, attend several
sessions over the course of a few days,
and come away with relatively little
that you can actually use in your
classroom. On the other hand sometimes
the conversations you’ve had with other
teachers at these conferences, or even
the time spent in a colleague’s
classroom, can yield higher quality
professional development than the
“professionals” can. I started
Teacher 2 Teacher because I believe
that the best education for
teachers comes from teachers
themselves.
I was in the classroom for 22 years
– nine of those years spent teaching
special education – and I accumulated a
great amount of knowledge and experience
during that time. I’ve spent the last
eight years teaching educators
themselves in over 80 school districts
impacting over 1,500 teachers, and what
I found in the process was that I
continued to learn from these talented
and dedicated professionals! I began to
envision a forum where I could share the
knowledge I had collected through the
years. That’s how Teacher 2 Teacher
came to be.
I think Teacher 2 Teacher provides a
unique service to educators – one in
which the information provided is
grounded in actual classroom practice,
and where sharing among the participants
is a very important part of the process
and strongly encouraged. Our trainings
are tailored to what teachers need, and
include practical solutions to real
problems. Our consulting service will
continually grow and change as new
educational strategies and needs come to
the forefront in our profession. If we
are truly going to “reform” educational
practices, why not listen to the people
who truly know What’s Best For Kids
– teachers themselves?

"This is honestly the most engrossing and
clearly presented workshop not directly related
to my field I have ever attended. Betsy is very
intelligent, well-spoken and knowledgeable about
trends in education.”

power standards will be helpful to work with my
teachers! Very thorough – lists/organizers
helpful.”

affirmed what I knew [about short-cycle

useful.”

"Betsy Moore has worked with me and staff
members in two different districts. I was always
impressed with Betsy's friendliness and openness
to staff members concerns, comments, and ideas.
Yet she would always bring them back to the
business of the "work" of designing effective
standards based test questions."
Libby Watkins
Principal, Jackson Middle School
South Western City Schools
Grove City, Ohio

"Betsy Moore empowered our
staff to begin the process of utilizing
assessments to positively effect student
learning and outcomes. Anytime you enlist a
fellow educator to help you lead a change
process you are taking a risk. I can honestly
say that Betsy communicated in a positive and
humorous style that engaged and energized our
staff."

Principal
